In a clip from an appearance on Tavis Smiley’s talk show on PBS, Truthdig columnist Chris Hedges holds forth on topics covered in his new book, “Wages of Rebellion,” including the news media’s failure to do their job, the public loss of faith in the political process and the revolutionary potential bubbling beneath the surface of American life.

Hedges’ conversation with Smiley was broadcast June 8.
