I know their jaw strength and determination makes them terrifying; a friend's dog was attacked by a poorly trained one last month (dog pulled leash out of walker's hand, ran across a street and attacked a poodle), and had its side ripped open.
But, in Victorian times, pit bulls were famed for being sweet and perfect for families with children (I think I actually know this).
And now...this is an example of one being trained to protect the head of a person suffering an epileptic seizure, with loss of consciousness, and head-banging. I mean, yes, it could be a toy poodle, but it's not.
Owners and their intent and training appear to be mightily important.
Love because: dog love. But remove me if you think not.
