That's true, but from what i've read about the hack, its legit. Apparently you can fool the X Box into thinking its a legit game disc by changing the firmware on the dvd drive. The dvd drive normally reports on the type of disc, an x box disc is almost a standard dvd but it has specific bad sectors that a normal burner can't burn.

When you change the firmware the drive will report that its an x box disc despite it not being one. Basically though you have to have a way of flashing a cmos chip so this is not a great solution for joe-sumer.
