What Would Jesus Buy? follows Reverend Billy and the Church of Stop Shopping Gospel Choir as they go on a cross-country mission to save Christmas from the Shopocalypse: the end of mankind from consumerism, over-consumption and the fires of eternal debt!

From producer Morgan Spurlock (SUPER SIZE ME) and director Rob VanAlkemade comes a serious docu-comedy about the commercialization of Christmas.

The Disney text is nice. As someone who worked in retail when i was younger i grew a slight hatred for christmas, it is pathetic how people get during the holidays. The materialistic, greedy, almost hateful vibe that grows around December is extemely fucked up in my opinion.

This was good - not as heavy-handed as one would think. They showed this at the local indie theater here and we were invited to join people outside singing "carols." Good times.

I really dug this film, and it's nice to see religious people go against the over-commercialization of the biggest bullshit holiday of all time.
