Man, this makes me want to go back to college. I graduated in 1982: we used punch cards to do term papers on the room-sized computer in the basement library. This was our only access to a word-processing system.

I majored in Communications. To some degree, the Dept. Head predicted some of this, he did tell us that people would be able to do shared online journals (blogs) and fully expected the demise of print media. To think of the advances we've made since then, well, sometimes it just blows me away.

Punch cards in 82? I was using an Apple ][, or maybe an PC.. the Mac came out in 1984 I think.
