Everyone knows now that this speech was a hoax, what sucks is that Tenet was sitting behind hm the entire time - that was a big morale blow for the CIA who knew how false this report was.

Yeah, I remember hearing the presentation start on the radio when I was driving home from class and driving extra fast so I could home and watch it on television.

Please these people knew what they were doing. I was so dissapointed with Colin Powell and the fact that he just politically broke to the pressure at the time, everyone at the Whitehouse wanted to extend action within the middles east, but why didn't Colin Powell think that there is no case for war in Iraq? Am glad that at least he tried to bring the administration on board with the UN Security Council... but then with that infamous speech and completely baseless proof Colin Powell ended his political career.

When Colin Powell got added to the Bush administration, I was very hopeful, this was a man whose actions and stance I have greatly admired especially during Gulf War 1. And quite honestly I thought he could have one day become america's first African-American president. All that went down the drain.
