Waiting A Decade for Duke

"10 years ago, Bill (Slash000) pre-ordered "Duke Nukem Forever" from his local GameStop, and it's finally time for a pick up!"

Dude DNF is just not a good game - honestly. If this game gad been released a decade ago it would have even been a disappointment then. You know, they talk about it "being in development" for 10 years, 12 years, etc... but it wasn't. They slapped it together within a year, probably used the Doom engine they used a few years back. There is nothing revolutionary about this game. It's a rehash of D3D plain and simple. I think they used the same AI as D3D... apparently monsters can't see OR hear. Friendly NPCs won't get the hell out of the way.... and WTF is with the facial animation!?

It's tough to live up to your own hype, but I think in this case, they didn't bother. They just told themselves: "It has Duke Nukem, it needs nothing else.".

huh... the game engine is the unreal engine. And yes, it shows it had a lot of problems during development, but i for one congratulate the guys at Gearbox for having the guts to pull the game from oblivion, and get it out. And now they have the rights to it, which can only mean a proper duke game in the future. We'll wait.

Oh, and the first quarter of the game is actually kinda fun, and doesn't look that bad (except the animations, that looks terrible).
