Wikipedia:"Volcano Girls" is a song by the alternative rock band Veruca Salt, released in 1997 on the album Eight Arms to Hold You. It was written by Nina Gordon in which she was the lead signer for the song, with Louise Post performing backup vocals. The song was used as an introductory track for the beginning of the dark comedy movie Jawbreaker, released in 1999.
The song references Veruca Salt's previous hit Seether, on their American Thighs album. In Volcano Girls the Seether is revealed. "The Seether's Louise", as in Louise Post of the band. This itself is a reference to the Beatles song "Glass Onion". Volcano Girls ranked high on the charts and became a hit with the fans.
The energetic music video video for Volcano Girls was shot over two days at Essenay in Chicago, Illinois. The video consist of the band in the central arena attached to bungee cords, on which Louise and Nina bounce erratically. Around the arena stand many fans watching them perform.
