Vacuum Cleaner Sounds Like Chewbacca

My hoover has just started to sound like one of my favorite characters from Star Wars.

Update. When I cleaned the filter it stopped doing Chewbacca impersonations, but hoovering was no fun anymore, now after two months the filter is full of dust and its doing Chewy sounds again.
