***Warning Graphic clip*** Sylvia (Played by Catalina Sandino Moreno) - A diligent, hardworking Mexican immigrant who arrives in the United States in pursuit of a better life with her husband and little sister.she at first refuses to work at the plant, eventually finds herself on the killing floor in a graphic sequence that was shot in an actual slaughterhouse. The last time we see her, she's being instructed how to rip the kidneys out of piles of steaming feces-filled cow intestines by her co-worker.

Is the woman ment to be a compleat idoit? blody hell the fact is most people eat meet most cows have a pritty dam happy life in a nice feald not having to worry about annything. and then are killed pritty fast. i personaly think we live in times where we dont have to eat meet and so we should not cuse suffering to animals however unless there was a huge cultral shift all of a sudden its unlikely people are going to stop eating meet right now. that sloughter house was nice and cleen and the treetment of the animals good. if the director was trying to make a statment about the realty of man and mans relatoinship with meat it seems to me that he has a rather negative view on the whole thing rather than a nutral.
