The problems with the Chinese space program

Generally when it comes to space progress is great regardless of who makes that progress (once you accept that more things up there isn't necessarily progress). However, according to Real Engineering there are significant hidden costs to the way the Chinese space program is operating. This doesn't detract from what they actually achieve, and there are plenty of non-spacy things happening out there that are far worse than this, but I do find it interesting and worrying all the same.
