Man, way back when football had players covering the other team and not staying 40+ feet away from each other waiting for some prima-donna moment.

Football is utter crap nowadays, rather watch hockey.

Now that this has gone top 15(!) let me say why this is a brilliant goal. They build from the back and are under extreme pressure from a very good Liverpool side, one that goes on to win the championship that year.

The goal features two superb headers from Keegan, two one-twos, an overhead kick and sweet control and finish from Channon. It has to be up there with some of the best goals ever scored.

I don't necessarily agree that it's up there with some of the best. It's a good display of teamwork, true, but that doesn't do it for me. I guess it's just what you think of it.

I will say i agree with the comment about remaining 40+ feet away from each other because you're worried someone will do a triple salco and get you sent off.

This is no doubt a cultural thing, but I found myself getting slightly anxious watching this.

Stop kicking it around and grab it before the other guys do!

There's just this deep-rooted feeling that you don't have control of the ball if you're not holding it.

One thing to bear in mind are the changes in the offside rule. Sides today can't count on pushing up and getting easy decisions.

If anything though the game requires better tackling than it ever did and we still see great games, you only have to remember what Barca did to Man Utd a few months ago. Diving remains a problem though.
