*blog Users name is acoustica, the youtube name is guitarmusicrocks, the description on youtube points to where you can buy the song. The person who posted the video here seems know alot about the style of playing, double dropped D tuning?

Seems like a self promote to me but since the names on the accounts don't match I thought I would blog it.

Hi my name is Don Alder and I was just contacted by a friend of mine who handles my website and my youtube stuff. It seems theres a bit of a misunderstanding on what the appropriate protocol is for posting videos on this site. So if a protocol was violated then you have my apologies. But also there is some copyright exploitation going on here as well. I dont recall giving silvercord to post any of my videos. I do appreciate the visibility but it seems like theres a double standard going on. The thing is any video on this site that is music related is selling you something whether you think it is or not. Anyways sorry for the inconvenience. Ill Have my webguy check sites out better next time. In the end its just a guy on a dirt road playing guitar cause he loves playing. If you just watch the video there is no selling in it.

Hi Don,

Thanks for the reply. Part of what makes VideoSift such a great place to be is that people can't come in here promoting themselves. I'd say that if your webmaster is posting vids of you here that would qualify as self-promotion and self-linking. Both of those practices are against the posting guidelines. Hence, the ban. We are simply not interested in "drive-by postings."

If you'd rather people didn't have the ability to post your videos the "embed" feature on YouTube can be disabled. If you wish that I remove your video from VS I'd be happy to discard it.

On a happier note (pun intended) you're a helluva guitarist and I'm jealous. I'm sure that many here, including me, would be pleased to make "The Wall" a part of their collection. I also think you will find many wonderful people in our community if you decide to stick around. Heck, you could even be our resident musician. Lord knows we need one.
