schmawysays...I'd recommend an over-under scope mount, too. That way you can use the iron sights or ghost-ring sights at short range.
Throbbinsays...Great video.
I'm partial to the Mini-14. The .223 round is powerful enough for longer distance shots. I have a tough old M-14 I use for hunting - it's lightweight, versatile, has a 25 shot banana clip (now illegal in Canada), and accurate. I'd be more confident in it's killing power than the .22.
It also looks magnitudes more badass.
Throbbinsays...I also laughed a few times. *comedy
siftbotsays...Adding video to channels (Comedy) - requested by Throbbin.
NordlichReitersays...Bullshit. A suppressor does not make a bullet subsonic. That is done with special ammunition made to limit the sonic signature; at the cost of range. A suppressor will muffle the sound of the bullet, it has no effect on the grain of the shell which propels the bullet.

Watch this video on a silenced 22.

He forgot to mention that suppressors generally get very hot to the touch with sustained fire (meaning an assload of zombies). Generally when there are a shit load of zombies, they would already have alerted other zombies to your position by means of moaning (Extensively talked about in the Zombie Survival Guide). At that point a suppressor is superfluous. Extensive use of the suppressor can damage erode the baffles eventually the suppressor will no longer work.
You will also need a threaded barrel on which to mount the suppressor.
Did he mention cleaning the suppressor, or the gun? Oh, boy.
Raaaghsays...I dunno where I stand.
Another possible consideration is multiple target penetration, which I think the 0..22 would due nicely.
Without thinking to hard, I'd prolly agree with video-maker for logistics, and ease of maintenace.
But I'd seriously consider 0.222 semi-auto on the basis of accuracy and tissue destruction
Throbbinsays...I've heard that the .222 is a beautiful caliber. They are highly sought after in the north because they are very accurate. Ammo is an issue though, as it's not a common caliber and ammo would be difficult to find.
I'm sticking with the .223.>> ^Raaagh:
