the media has changed the jargon,and most americans have collective A.D.D,
but it was true.
democrats tended to more hawkish,and the original phrase was "neo-liberal" founded in the early 40's by university of chicago professor leon strauss.

HadouKen24says...My suspicion is that by "liberal" he refers to those committed to the Enlightenment values of democracy and capitalism--the original meaning of the word. America was founded on liberal ideals. Hence, the more conservative party--in the sense of being more concerned with conserving the traditions of a nation--is, in America, going to be the more "liberal" in the sense meant in the video.
