The Superbowl Hoax

John Hargrave and friends from comedy site Zug.com hacked the superbowl, posing as sports journalists to distribrute 'Prince Party Packages' to unsuspecting fans who were pawns in a plot involving light-up necklaces that spelled out a secret message.

and why would terrorists want to flash a message during the superbowl... try the same prank with fireworks then that may that douchebag prankster'd have a valid point about the media not mentioning his faux-concern.

It's a *geek move that resulted in a *viral campaign, basically.

I agree with your view that it doesn't look like a big deal - although that's part of his point.

He seems to be up in arms about the media being scared of broadcasting videos obtained from terror groups b/c "they might have a secret message". His point is you can put secret messages anywhere (from innocuous innocent events, to events televised world-wide), so their concerns are misplaced.

The point kind of gets lost in the drama of the "OMG, their security sucks" that comes out of the video.

They seem to acknowledge that, though:

Their own site includes a post from a guy who worked there:

"I worked security at Dolphin Stadium for [Super Bowl XLI]. I have zero experience as a security guard. I'm a college student. Apparently, Dolphin Stadium has their own people to run regular season NFL games, but the Super Bowl wasn't in the contract, thus they outsourced thousands of jobs to anyone that could pass a background check. With how damn confusing all the various badges were, I let just about everyone in if you had a lanyard with a badge on. I don't mean to dull the success of your accomplishment, but security at the Super Bowl isn't quite so super."

The guys at http://www.zug.com are great, much respect for all their great pranks. The security must be so embarrassed after seeing how easy it was to get the boxes in. But I gota agree with firefly, the best prank I have read was the one where he takes viagra at church. Hahaha, he said every woman he looked at cause a semi-erection, I shared that prank with some buddies at http://www.edguider.com and they loved it.

Cheers guys and keep up the great pranks.
