FletchI know this probably won't make it out of the queue, but for those of you who saw The Fountain and just didn't like it, or didn't get it, this may shed a little light. This is one of those movies where most people either loved it or hated it. I've seen the movie several times and loved it every time. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it. Especially if you want to see something beautifully made and wonderfully acted, or just want to see a movie that may require a little thought, some will to understand, and maybe a little courage to face a question or two many of you probably haven't had occasion, or reason, to consider just yet. Great movie.

I have to admit - I'm one of those that finished this movie, disappointed. Probably because I went into it expecting a SF type movie - and it was really more art house surreal. Also, it broke my suspension of disbelief , that whole tree in a bubble heading to the crab nebula thing.
Doc_MThat movie was absolutely stunning and fantastic. The movie requires people to glue themselves to the screen and pay full attention. It requires that you actually think about it in the way that you would a poem. If you do that, you'll like it... or at least get it. People often go to Science Fiction movies expecting an Action movie. There is most certainly a difference and this movie is Science Fiction and not Action.
The only thing I didn't like about the movie was the way in which the medieval-period guy met his fate unintentionally. That didn't really groove with the other two stories.
