I'm just a tiny bit sad I never got into the Dead while they were still around. I very much enjoy their music and the culture surrounding them is fascinating. It reminds me of paddlers (kayakers & rafters) in the Southeast. If you're wearing a helmet, carrying a paddle and have your thumb out while near a river down here, you will get a ride.
