The Christian Alternative to Hating Those Who Are Different

This insightful Christian shows us how he can recognize and overcome pious entitlement, and understand how to demonstrate true Christian values such as love and compassion. I wish I knew more of these types of Christians. I know they exist.

@EMPIRE:

So he's retarded for realizing that he is guilty of hating people different than himself? Christianity considers the conscience to be something akin to the voice of God (a still, small voice helping to guide our actions). It may be a realization he came to on his own, but the thought is that it was divinely inspired, and it is, quite frankly, beautiful to see a Christian stop and search his heart and admit that he was wrong. If he gives God the credit for it, so much the better. It's about time someone religious gave credit to their deity for something besides war and hatred!

Whitesays...

THIS is one of the best vids i've seen in a while. This is EXACTLY how i feel. I went to a catholic school from kindergarten to 5th grade. being a senior in a public high school now i've been exposed to a lot of things and still consider myself a catholic but now only follow my own little rule i've made for myself-

God is up there. he is in charge. don't piss him off. other than that, do whatever you want, just don't hurt others, physically or emotionally.

this guy seems to get it.

just love one another. is that too much to ask?

define "up"... The Earth is spinning on an axis, and revolving around the sun, which is moving in the local galaxy all moving in the universe.

So you mean "up" there tangentially above your head? Is God in a fixed orbit somehow? Do you really mean "out there" but that sounds too UFOlogist for you? Is heaven some fifth century concept to you of anything you see at night when you look upwards? Wouldn't it make more sense to at least pretend heaven is another dimension that can only be seen and experience by good Christians when they die?

Kerotansays...

I think people are too harsh on this guy, yes perhaps the so called pious should be all like this, but lets face it, they aren't and at least this guy is taking a step forward, to me it doesn't mater that he puts this step forward down to a divine deity, it doesn't mater to me that its a rather small step, all that maters is that is that it is step forward, however small.
