Terrahawks! Vintage puppet sci fi

This was my favourite program. Check the eighties music (1983) and notice the slight resemblance to Star Wars lol. But anyway this is very inventive and from the same Gerry Anderson that made Thunderbirds.

Anything Gerry Anderson did was fun, well except for the second season of Space 1999 (What were you THINKING!) Still one of the best TV theme songs evar.....

i just remember the spaceships always came out of the ground in a really cool way, like a whole house would unfurl and reveal a launchpad or something, trees splitting in half, stuff like that. and the rolling ball soldiers were very very cool.

The balls' enemies were cubes (not shown in this clip i think) and at the end of each episode they had a game of exploding tictactoe as the credits went up

the tictactoe is my most salient memory of terrahawks!

The amazing thing about a low budget is that it is a great incentive for actual creativity.

^word. the entire budget for Terrahawks was probably about the same as Lucas spent on the joystick for the millennium falcon.
