Wait... He has to be against reading the book... to be consistent... because it pushes an agenda?

If we were going to be consistent, we would not allow the reading of any heteronormative fairy tails? Somehow it's okay for a teacher to teach that being heterosexual is normal/desirable, but not to say the same about being homosexual ? If sexuality is off the table, then marriage, romance, etc are off the table, but people read snow white (which has serious race and sex issues) to first graders. Why can we tell stories that are offensive to progressive people, but not to conservatives?

schools should not employ black people in order to accommodate parents that are racist .
