I dunno, I'd have to disagree with Cenk on this one. First off, paying $25/mo for health insurance is pretty darn good. Second, isn't it kinda fair to make people pay a little more who are going to be using the services more and potentially increase costs for everyone else? Where I work, smokers pay an extra fee for health insurance...but none of us get it for free.
That being said I think insurance is pretty much a scam. Isn't it really a bet against yourself? The only way to "win" is to die, get a horrible disease, dismemberment, wreck your car, etc. And that's assuming your claim isn't declined, or your insurance actually covers the incident, or your not dropped. But even if your claim is accepted you'll most likely have to pay a bunch out of pocket and your rates will go up.
That's why I see Dr. Nick and his team of discount surgeons! Same error rates as regular hospitals, but 1/2 the cost becuase they don't pay mal practice insurance (since none of them have a license).
