rembarsays...Not quite as awesome as the spy guide, but pretty decent. Other tips:
- Keep moving, jumping and turning at all times, it makes it harder for a spy to sneak up on you or anybody else to take a potshot at you.
- You can heal around corners and when you're not looking at your target. Use this to keep an eye out and to not put yourself in the line of fire.
- You build up ubercharge faster when you heal an injured teammate. This is why soldiers and demomen are hurting themselves during the setup period - it's not for the lulz, it's so you can get an ubercharge before the match starts. Use this to your advantage.
- When you hit uber, you can still change your target, and it takes a few seconds for the uber to wear off after you've switched off a target. This means, if you're good enough, you can uber two people at once by switching back and forth between them constantly.
- When you're making a rush with a heavy to take out sentries using an uber, run in front of the sentry until the heavy starts firing, then get the hell out of the way. This way, the sentry won't knock him back as far, and you won't get in the way of the heavy's shooting.
- DON'T HEAL SPIES FFS.
Lurchsays...Yeah, nice tips. Hard to avoid healing spies though if you're running around tapping everyone like he recommends. I guess you could always run into everyone to check first like the Spy guide suggests.
mas8705says...TF2 is starting to be a famous topic on Videosift...
Good ideas for being a medic... however, it needs to say what is the best course of action if you maybe healing spies or how to find out if your healing a teammate or not...
PlayerXsays...I assume they mean don't heal your own team's spies. It's a dead giveaway to the other team if they're in disguise.
rembarsays...Healing spies in general is a bad idea. Your own team's spies will be given away, and the other team's spies will embarass you and probably make a video about it.
The two best ways to figure out disguised spies are to watch the player's movement (trying to avoid bumping into teammates, not going on the attack like other teammates) and BONE SAW THE MOTHERF***ER.
kageninsays...Avoid healing spies, both your own, and enemy spies. Only heal your spies when they're near dead, and there's no one else to heal near by.
Now that Medics have the Blutsauger, you can be very deadly if you know how to use it. The best way I know to get kills is to goad an enemy pyro to chase you. Run backwards just outside their flamethrower's range, while shooting them up. Less experienced pyros will give chase, desperately trying to burn you, but you have the advantage when they're moving forward - their range is effectively shorter than when they run backwards. Better experienced pyros know the range of their flamethrower better, and will switch to shotgun when you're out of range. That's when you run to the nearest friendly soldier or heavy and get them to finish off the enemy pyro. Only a couple shotgun blasts will smoke you.
Another important thing is to make sure you communicate with your team. Watching their 6 and warning them of a potential spy can save both your lives.
