Streetpong

Looks like a fun way to pass the time waiting to cross the street.

Info from @spoco2 (thanks):
STREETPONG is a concept of urban interaction by Sandro Engel and Holger Michel, developed at the HAWK Hildesheim, Faculty of Art. It is a simulation, not a permanent installation.

Just because this is going viral at the moment, AND because people are taking it as fact that these just exist in Germany... I must *promote, and add the note that accompanies the video:

Pretty cool concept to be sure, but it saddens me how much you see things like this spread as 'fact' with no checking of sources.

So... a Concept, created by these guys

My guess is that the image of the game is added in later digitally as it just looks a bit off.

But great idea!

Yeah it's pretty obviously faked. I wish they'd emphasize "simulation".

But they don't because they know that the majority of people are brainless gorms who'll pass this onto people everywhere thinking it's true without stopping to see if there's any other sources that confirm that it's real.

I mean, surely there'd be some other videos of this by now?

Or a reputable news article about them?

If not, you must think something's fishy.

And it is... and the main problem is that the videos getting most of the views are accounts that have just copied the video and not the descriptive text saying it's a concept. Which makes it all the more painful
