http://videosift.com/video/Single-Saluting-Marine-Explains-His-Service Upon BoneRemake's request, a little back story: Rolling Thunder is a motorcycle club made up of veterans. They show up for parades in honor of veterans. This particular active duty vet was watching them in a parade for the first time a few years back, and was saluting them as they rolled past. He could tell that they couldn't see him, standing on the sidelines. So he walked to the middle of the road and saluted, and proceeded to stand there for hours. He has since repeated this act of symbolic service many times. Some Vietnam vets have told him that they feel like it is the welcome home they didn't get decades ago. He is quite eloquent discussing the origins and aftermath of his impulsive act on the link above.
