JAPRsays...That's one hell of a rifle.
MINKsays...wow. on so many levels.
RajaJajasays...JAPR, the .270 is just a .30-'06 cartridge necked down from .30 inches diameter to .27 (actually .277, I think) with the bullet shedding about 1/3 of its weight (so it shoots flatter). As such, it actually kicks a fair bit less than a .30-'06, which is a long-time standard and one of the most popular calibers ever. Unlike the original poster, I would not call this a "very big gun." It's standard fare for deer hunting.
I might not have said anything, but the whole point of the original post and video was to dispel myths. No need to create new ones.
MarineGunrocksays...I pulled that description from Break verbatim, but Raja is right.
Drachen_Jagersays...The lit cigarette thing is actually wrong too. Yes if you drop a cigarette into a small container of gas it will not light because the cigarette does not spend enough time in the fumes to ignite the fuel. It's important to note that it's the gas fumes that ignite, not the liquid. The liquid gasoline extinguishes the flame. However in a LARGE gas spill, especially on hot asphalt the fume cloud is much bigger and it will ignite.
The shooting thing is absolutely true, it fails with tracer (phosphorous tipped) bullets. The bullet simply passes through the can too quickly for enough heat exchange to happen.
9058says...Am I the only one that found this strangly erotic?

Thylansays..."This is not the kind of girl you want to cheat on..."
Like all girls you mean?
Sorry, but that comment just got me.
my15minutessays...wewt. 3 lists.
and yeah, ^Raja is correct about the .270 being a fairly typical deer rifle.
but bear in mind that comparing that which is 'typical', in that category,
to any other category...
let's just say if i was 5'8" and had never fired one before (neither of which is true)
i'd find it ungainly to fire from a full-upright standing position, as well.
sometimessays...seems to be *dead
