Constitutional_Patriotsays...It was stated in this video "the philosophy of the republicans" which is not entirely correct.. it should have been read "the philosophy of the Neocons" of whom are not conservative at all and have infiltrated the republican party and perverted it to the point of complete disgust. The centrist republicans are not bad and tend to follow true conservatism.... which is what many centrist democrats follow (in respect to economic philosophy).... But none of this really matters.. the thought of unity is a lost cause at this point now isn't it?
cdominussays..."Thank goodness for Social Security, because that's all I have left."
Uhh....Yeah.... about that....

CP: Who would you consider an oldskool Conservative who hasn't supported all of these policies?
rougysays...There are a lot of problems with our economy, but when we let banks sell their loans off to bigger banks, and then let the new owners of those loans raise the interest rates on the borrower, that's what fucked us up.
If they would have just made regular fixed interest loans, everything would still probably be okay.
Constitutional_Patriotsays...Ron Paul is one that doesn't support the Neocon/PNAC philosophy.

I want to fully agree with that opinion, but I rather suspect that Big Money/Corporations are what really stand behind these policies, and the Neocon shtick is just a fancy wrapping with a bow to attract the sheep of whom will be fleeced if they get their way. By mongering "fear", they are careful to frame issues that have nothing whatsoever to do with our real issues [economic downfall, loss of our international respect, trailing in nearly every market and education, the disappearance of the middle class...]. Instead, they sell "family values" as a magic elixor/snake oil because it's something we think we can understand.
There was another time/place where the politicoes used the ruse of fear and "values" to rally the masses, screening out the real problems and solutions neccessary; It did not end well for far too many. The whole "conform to our ways or else" philosophy comes directly out of the fascist handbook, and by the looks of it we are rapidly heading down that dark path.
Why is Ron Paul the only Non-Neocon-laced Republican I can think of today? I wish we had much more of him.

I was actually more curious about Senators but should've been more specific.
Constitutional_Patriotsays...^Ron Paul is a
SenatorCongressman. (I guess I had a temorary loss of memory there. What was I thinking )As for the others, there are not many.. most seem to follow like lemmings.. and don't think that the dems are uncorruptable as well.. many of them are CFR also that play the game as they are told.

Are you sure we're talkin' bout the same guy? The Ron Paul I know is a Congressman. =]

I'm in no way saying Dems are awesome, trust me. Just wondering who's left who you'd consider a dyed-in-the-wool conservative these days.

volumptuoussays...@CPatriot:
Is there any really, really good information about the validity of CFR? I've looked and looked and looked, and still haven't found convincing, documented info that's worth even considering.
Maybe it's my limited scope, maybe it's the outlandishness of some of the claims, but I'd be appreciative of any sorts of empirical sources.
