The ashes of James Doohan (Scotty) and Michael Cooper (Apollo 7 Astronaut), along with the remains of about 200 other people head to the final frontier.

oddly enough, James Doohan wasn't even Scottish. He faked the accent for the show/movies.

I'm a little let down here... I wanted Scottys ashes to be boosted into orbit to settle slowly over the entire planet... not for a small vial of his ashes to be boosted above the "technical definition" of the edge of space for an arc back to the Earth...
