MarineGunrocksays...Um, yeah. Christians are not Islamic, therefore they don't think that something isn't true just becauseit's not in the bible, like a heliocentric system or a geocentric system.
dystopianfuturetodaysays...^hence the parody tag. Why do Christians stick up for Young Earth Creationists? You'd be better off without them.
Raigensays...I remember a post from FSTDT.com once where someone on a Christian Science Board was discussing that gravity doesn't exist. The reason we are stuck on the Earth is because of the "weight of our sins". When we have accepted Jesus as our savior and die, we rise to Heaven because the weight of our sins has been lifted from us. Those that have not accepted Jesus are pulled directly down to Hell from the overwhelming weight of their sins.
He argued that gravity cannot exist because the astronauts do not orbit the space shuttle when it is in orbit, and the Moon orbits Earth, and not the Sun, even though the Sun has a "supposed" stronger gravitational pull.
The final reason he disagrees with the Theory of Gravity is because he believes any scientific theory proven right gives Evolution more cause to be correct. So he spends his time trying to disprove all scientific theories to prove to people that Evolution isn't true.
Edit: Before MGR reams me for it, no, I do not lump all Christians into these "chimps with downsyndrome" piles. My father still professes his Christianity, and as I've said before, my uncle is a minister and one of the most intelligent people I know.
gwiz665says..."As a Christian, I can see that a lot of science just doesn't make sense. How do I know? Because I have two eye, I read the bible and I don't believe everything I'm told."
Well, mr. I don't believe everything I'm told, why do you believe the bible?
"As an American it is my god given to decide what's true and what isn't"
In a way, yes and no. But in a more accurate way, no. Some, and indeed most, things are absolute. Black is black, black is not gray. "truth" is always relative to the question that's asked though, it has to be a question. When you boil it down the the basics, you opinion is not really important. You can believe that the moon is made of cheese, and decide this with your god give right, but that doesn't make it true.
... I feel bible-rolled. I was surprisingly far into this video before I realized it was a parody.
So, alright, I'll take another approach. It is a sad state indeed, when well-made satire is so close with the thing it satires. This is only a stone's throw away from actual bible-thumping. I wish, I really wish, that the people who are so eager to find holes and weaknesses in Evolution looked with only half as critical eyes to their scripture, which would then reveal the fraudulent, illogical, evil beast that it propels.
Trancecoachsays...wow, more evidence of religious ignorance. as if we needed any more.
MarineGunrocksays...I know it's a parody. But it paints all Christians as a big bunch of un-intelligent morons.
Majortomyorkesays...^ this video is a joke, and like all jokes contain hints of truth. I would assume the intent of this video is to #1 entertain and #2 abre los ojos.
Irishmansays...Christians don't believe in Parody.
BicycleRepairMansays...But it paints all Christians as a big bunch of un-intelligent morons.
Not really, it only mocks the fundamentalists who denies science because it contradicts scripture, ie: Creationists.
shuacsays...This was funny. And of course a parody is going to go after fundamentalists. What's funny about going after middle-of-the-road Christians? Or middle-of-the-road atheists? I've not seen such videos but I'll bet they're not as entertaining as this.
lesserfoolsays...I don't see how anyone can complain that this parody is unfair to even the average American. Only the very brightest Christians can talk about anything fundamental without using logic exactly like this.
evil_disco_mansays...Upvote for putting his hand over his heart when he says "think." Good American.
