Ron Paul on Meet The Press 12-23-07

As usual Dr Paul does not back down and stays consistent and honest with his responses and uses logic to make the interviewer look naive/stupid. Is Tim Russert really this dumb or does he just act that way? And whats with most of the questions being based on quotes from 20 years ago? Seems a bit unfair to expect RP to remember the exact words and more important the "context" of those words from so long ago.

The beginning shows a rather poor performance by Paul. I don't think it's too much to expect to have someone who wants to abolish taxes that are a staple of state income to have an alternative to balance the books handy. And not just by saying "well, we could do this and that" - these things have to be worked out in advance with hard numbers, and have those numbers handy to throw into their critics faces. It _looks_ like Paul didn't do his homework on this and is just a wishy-washy daydreamer. This looks really bad since finances are Pauls most important point on his platform. I'm not saying that he didn't do his homework, but it sure looks like this.

Speaking of which, does anyone know who Pauls main advisors and future chief honks are? They're just as important to a candidate as the candidate himself. I read an article a while back highlighting Guillianis advisors and it was scary - most were die-hard neo-cons that are pushing for a war with iran... So a contrasting setup would be nice.
