Rammstein - Amerika

Rammstein's 'Amerika' is a scathing (but succinct) critique of the wholesale export of American consumer culture to the rest of the world. The video crystallizes this by showing diverse cultures partaking of typically American products instead of exercising their own cultural traditions. These images are intercut with sequences of the band playing on the moon in [helmetless] space suits (harping on the conspiracy theory suggesting that the moon landing was staged and/or the exploitation of it as a superficial PR campaign for America) and dressed as American Indians, the original people of a land whose cultures were decimated by those who identified themselves as 'Americans.'
