Finally, someone actually says the truth out loud. I guess people (or the major media outlets) just don't want to admit that rampant racism still exists in certain parts of the country.

Racists - those who judge solely based on race - are also Obam's strength. Black Democrats are voting for him because he's Black. It can't be anything else, since Clinton's husband Bill during his 8 LONG years pumped billions into the Black community. Some thanks.

White Democrats are voting for BHO because he's not-White/same old.

Racism? What about opposing Obama's RED socialism, and then there's that politicized, Farrakhan-honoring "church" of his, which has been a delightful embarrassment.

Racism? Why, Obama has the support of Robert "KKK" Byrd D-WV, the longest "serving" member in Congress. Wouldn’t you expect the endorsement of a (half) Black man by a former Grand Kleagle and Exalted Cyclops of the Ku Klux Klan to be headline news?

And yet the the Associated Press buried this historic event.

Why is that, do you think?

Do you think if a former Klansman endorsed a Republican Presidential candidate it would be similarly soft pedaled?

Its not racism, its risk aversion and level of education.

My impression (living in Indiana) is that older and rural Democrats go for Clinton because we've had a Clinton in the White House, and he was better than Bush, and we can expect some of the same from his wife. Understanding Obama's plans and strategies is a bit more complicated than just assuming that Hillary would be like Bill in policy terms, which they think was okay.

On the 'education' point, Obama appears uncomfortable talking down to other adults. Its refreshing to someone like myself, but if his answer to a question goes 'over-your-head' you tune out. Case in point, Hillary ran on government sponsored health-care for everyone (simple), while Obama thinks this would be impossible to jump into and so has a more nuanced approach (complicated); I've watched him go through the details of this approach and to me it sounds both exciting and well-reasoned, but to my Grandpa (God-Bless-him!) it would fly in one ear and out the other.

So people say they don't 'know' Obama and his policies still after 20-odd debates and countless interviews, partly because they assume they know what Hillary will do because of Bill. Plus what they do know about Obama is the tabloid stuff (simple) and that he's a black dude with a foreign name (differences that stand out). So, yeah, I don't think its racism, just risk aversion and education. David Brooks has actually been talking about the education divide matching the campaign results for a few months now.

Racism is a goddamn diversion that is going to aid and abet, as it always has, those who construct these farcical, so-called, "elections"-
Racism is one of the many tools used to polarize AND separate-you kids....not your fault, you we're raised by well-meaning parents.

I think I might have harboured some latent racism in my early 20s. I read that book "The Bell Curve" and it made me think jeez- maybe there is something radically different about the brains of different races. The Bell curve said that Asian IQs were a bit higher, African a bit lower. It's since been repudiated as a bunch of statistical garbage - but some of it had sunk in.

Then I read an article on why humans have different skin color which blew me away. It's all to do with melanin and vitamin D. In Africa where you don't need a lot of clothes- brown skin blocks most of the radiation and you get the right amount of melanin all over your body.

In places like Norway- where you are wearing a big parks- you have to get the maximum amount of radiation you can get from your exposed skin, which is very little- so brown skin loses in favor of white skin that can absorb the sun in a more concentrated area.

Over the years, people with white skin in cold areas were selected for through evolutionary processes. (I suspect brown skinned people in Norway would suffer more vitamin deficiency related disease).

That's all it is - that's the basis of our skin color differences - when you understand that, racism goes out the window. Sources? You want sources? bah.
