This video is a POV ride on the Big Dipper, the oldest operating wooden rollercoaster in Ohio (and the 12th oldest in the world.) It was built in 1925 and was an American Coaster Enthusiasts "Coaster Classic."
On Sept 21, 2007, Cedar Fair, which owns the park where the Big Dipper lives, announced that they would close the amusement park side of the park and reopen in 2008 as just a waterpark. The rides remaining were sold. Coaster enthusiasts are concerned that the Big Dipper is too old to be properly moved, and it may simply be demolished. As of Winter 2008, the Big Dipper was still standing (although it was damaged by a backhoe during demolition of the buildings around it.)
I grew up 20 minutes from Geauga Lake. It was a big shock to the entire community that the park was closed forever, and it's sad to think that videos like this will be the only way we'll be able to experience the old coaster anymore.
(I'm a bit lost as to which channels this would belong in - someone help me out!)
