A Point about Pushing in Movie Sword Fights

YouTube: Another video dealing with a corny daft movie cliche. This time it's the convention that the response to someone's pushing hard against your sword is to push back hard and then for the pair to struggle uselessly for a bit.

They pushed in the Princes Bride, and that movie is above reproach. However, they were more pushing with their bodies, and for a purpose - to push the other guy off the edge of the Cliff of Despair.

His "...and stab him in the face..." sounded a little maniacally enthusiastic to me...

Love that scene OverLord, Jaime being a pompus ass thinking he's going to destroy the old man, not quite realizing that Eddard in his prime was one of the greats. By the end of the fight his smile is wiped clean and replaced with exasperation.
