Pop Quiz: When Did 9/11 Happen?

Now you see what we're up against.

But is it surprising?

Look at the level of sheer noise of everything occurring in the world. Information is provided but there is often very little analysis behind the events, just fear and paranoia about phantom organizations, the war is fought in the same way, 70% of US casualties are IEDs. Yet we are lead to believe some Iranian country threatens the might of the entire US Army? Navy? Air Force? Stationed out in the Persian Gulf recently having conducted training exercises?. The current quagmire is of our own making the only solution provided is holding on and seeing how far down the abyss we can go before realizing that our infantry is overstretched over two combat zones? And then the withdrawl from there is even worse. But it's all some say this and that. Because it's okay to have a population in fear and confusion against themselves, it allows actions to be taken that in an informed society would lead to impeachments of everyone in the administration.

Always thought they should do these things more discreetly...people could just be nervous in front of a camera or say something stupid on purpose just to be funny because they know they'll be on tv later.

silly

this technique has been used many times--usually for immature comedic purposes, e.g. mercer's 'ask an american'--and represents two main points

a. what is called 'leading the poll' whereby a person is first asked a question that attempts to establish a new fact in the respondent's mind, e.g. new intel says osama may be hiding in iraq... in which iraqi city do you think we'll catch him? durrr, baghdad?

and b. where every normal, reasoned and intelligent response is left on the cutting room floor after editing - after all, the makers are trying to make a point and only stupid responses suit their point -- if i were petty and/or mean-spirited enough, i could easily make a similar video mocking your nationality or some issue that's important to you

one comment here mentioned that 'it's sad to see so many people don't have a hold om the basic facts...'

lol - the clip only contained interviews of 15 separate people - is that a statistical cross section? lol

of the 15, only 14 provided wrong answers - one guy when asked 'what cities did the attacks take place in?' could only name new york -- how many of you could name the other two *cities*?

This is a pointless video. Anyone can EASILY interview hundreds of people (within a day or two) in ANY country and with great probability get AT LEAST 15 stupid responses. If anything is propaganda, this video fits it to a tee. Don't be fooled! If you care for America (unless you hate America no matter what), stop complaining and making fun of others and do your own part by doing something good yourself.

^yeah, cuz we all know conservatives are geniuses! Look how awesomely they're running our country!

And by the way, I'm as anti-Bush and anti-American foreign policy as anyone can get, but his is bullshit. The only stupid people are the ones who actually believe this represents the majority of Americans. I can go to any country and make a video like this.

There is absolutely no one who is saying this represents a majority - the fact that ANYONE is this clueless on the defining moment of a generation is absolutely shameful.

I'm pretty ashamed there are so many apologists piping up here, too.

rensays...

I think the comedy element comes from the fact they can't recall the month/year of the event, which is named by it's date. Especially because it's known as "September 11" just as much as 9/11.

I'll never forget this day mostly because it was the day global political accountability died and Dick Cheney got promoted to President.
