Yeah, the propeller seems to be on idle, so it's spinning only enough to keep the engine going.

The thing is, though, that at that angle he's basically free-falling and picking up speed the longer he stays that way. I can't tell how long he was facing straight down but to pull out of that you'll be exerting some serious strain on your wings, not to mention causing some passengers to part with their lunch

Also, every aircraft has a top speed limit, beyond which the shaking will basically tear the plane apart. They seemed confident enough about that however...

Well, if that did happen, they all have their parachutes on already. Well, the pilot would be screwed, but then, he did consent to such a risky move.
