Patti LaBelle's bodyguards assualt man

Patti's LaBelle's bodyguards and limo driver assaulted a man at Houston's Bush International Airport. The bodyguard's claimed the man, King a West Point Cadet, was harassing them and standing too close to Labelle's luggage. They also claim King hit the limo driver first.

King claims he was on his phone talking to his brother and father, whom were coming to pick him up, when LaBelle ordered the men to assault him for standing to near her luggage.

according to this http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-1394066/Footage-Richard-King-beating-Houston-cadet-suing-Patti-LaBelle-assault.html?ito=feeds-newsxml labelles story is king was drunk and harassing her and her entourage at which point the limo driver approached him and that king almost immediately took a swing at him. defending himself, the driver then pushed king, and he tripped and fell onto the concrete pillar.

thank god for video evidence because that just makes this version of the story that much more hilarious and infuriating

@smooman King apparently had been drinking, he admitted it he'd had a few drinks, on the plane I think, but said he wasn't anywhere near intoxicated. It should be pretty easy to tell how much he was served, I'm sure they know what plane he was on. Plus if they suspected he was drunk the police should have gotten test.

From what I can see in the video, it looked like the guy was on the phone the whole time, which corroborates part of his story being on the phone with his parents, and being oblivious to what was going on. It does look like there were some words exchanged prior to the actual assault, but neither person seemed bothered. Unless something happened just off screen it seems the guy in the red pushed first, and King defensively tried to push him away, and then he got nailed multiple times. So far everything matches King's description and nothing matches the bodyguards' descriptions.

There's got to be a better camera angle or at least a 2nd angle, I mean it is a big international airport, with how anal (sometimes literally) they are with airport security I have a hard time believing there's only a single low quality camera out there.

Come on, King is the instigator here. He walks all the way down from the other side of the bus (looks intoxicated), then walks past the limo. He's off screen at this point and hangs up the phone. As he comes back on screen he is making hand gestures and harassing the people around the limo. He then makes another call and continues to make hand gestures (again like he's drunk). He approaches the luggage and starts talking shit to the big security guy (who's mostly off camera). The guy in the red shirt goes and gets in-between King and the luggage. King says something to the guy and then turns away. The red shirt guy turns and lightly advances him away from the luggage when King turns to shove back. Then the big guy approaches, hits him and tries to grab him. King fumbles around and trips on the curb. He appears to have hit/scratched his head on the pillar (he checks his hand for blood). It wasn't a direct or hard hit or he would have been more concerned with and touching his head. The big guy stands over him for a few seconds and walks away. King then proceeds to stand up and fall back down multiple times like he is either drunk, faking, or both. He then gets up and hurriedly walks away.

Besides that, King's attorney claims "He didn’t know he was standing anywhere near somebody famous". Also King is seeking damages from the airport and a taxi dispatcher for allegedly "failing to provide a safe, secure environment for patrons".

One Houston newscast has the announcer providing a Freudian slip in the prosecution's favor as far as public opinion is influenced by way of the brain's back door:
"Airport cameras caught the innocen...INcident.." #;)
