well, i would say on most national issues that aren't social issues (economy, security, education, health care, etc), the first time she is being asked to state her opinion on these issues is under John McCain... so I would classify her as being in an extremely impressionable position.

^ They've been championing her as a anti-earmark reformer, yet her whole political career up 'til this point has been about getting as many earmarks for her state as possible.

This is not a new issue to her, just her position on it is new.
