OpenStreetMap is a free, editable map of the whole world. It allows you to view, edit and use geographical data in a collaborative way from anywhere on Earth. Each white flash represents a road being entered or updated. Cool as shit.

Fascinating how closely it resembles photos taken of the earth at night. The link between computer availability and energy consumption makes total sense and this demonstrates it perfectly. Cool video!
