LarsaruSsays...This is sad but they broke The Internet rule when it comes to trolling.
Rule 1: Do not feed the trolls!
Rule 2: See Rule 1.
Those are the rules, they reacted and gave the trolls the lulz they were after.
videosiftbannedmesays...Attention is attention, even when its negative. It's the internet version of the pack descending on the weak, hurt member and tearing it to pieces.
Kreegathsays...While trolling will probably always go hand in hand with the immaturity of the relatively young internet audience, it shouldn't be encouraged or defended. Lambasting the trolls for abusing their anonymity or making empty threats against them, however, won't help either.
It's a tricky situation, made especially sad at the expense of some very real pain and grief felt by the people involved.
RadHazGsays...I refer all parties concerned to the Penny Arcade - John Gabriel's Greater Internet Fuckwad Theory.
Normal Person + Anonymity + Audience = Total Fuckwad
Its a pessimistic view, but a generally accurate one.
gwiz665says...They're banding together to fight internet trolling? That should be interesting.
I think the line is crossed when people go to people's private place - like sending something in the (snail) mail or defaming a facebook page.
