Tommy Emmanuel is not a stranger here on the sift as one of the world's premier guitarists. Here he talks about how he makes the guitar sound like a complete band.

And no - Tommy is _not_ your average street musician.

YT: Tommy Emmanuel created a life for himself as a one-man band and has become one of Australia's most respected musicians. With light vim and pure talent, he demonstrates his unique playing style, which is notably a development of the Travis picking technique and blending of rhythm and melody.

Great talk! My understanding of a one-man-band has always been those guys you'd see in the public park with the ridiculous percussion rigging and 5 different instruments tied to their legs, arms, etc.
This changes my perception of that, though what he does sounds like what I've grown up knowing simply as a talented guitar player, he increased my respect for the complexity of the style.
