Because they were adamant to cover up and contain his friends change of heart against the firm. Then he found the document. His friend's sudden death, the firms sudden need to settle a case that was going on for 10 years and his own discovery of the documents and following assassination attempt sealed the deal.

This was a good classic 70s style thriller.

Clooney was great- as usual. Swinton deserved every praise she got- including that Oscar. Pollack just might have had the best role in the movie.

Welcome to my growing list of shitheads. I get really absorbed in movies and so the reason I haven't seen it yet is I was waiting for the right night when I could get properly absorbed in something a little smarter. Actually, it is a bit shit to post a spoiler as the first comment.. the comment on the video got me interested (i'd never heard of the film) and then i went to find out the name of it and ended up reading a spoiler..

Whether you like the way budzos said it or not, it'd be nice if you put a big spoiler tag somewhere or something inventive
