Mexico Bans U.S. Corn

Mexico has enacted a ban on importing U.S. grown (GMO) corn following a presidential decree in 2020 by then President Andrés Manuel López Obrador to preserve Mexico’s health and native species of corn.
This has the effect of cutting off one of our biggest buyers of American grown GMO corn just as the new administration is talking about banning high fructose corn syrup. Combined, these moves could decimate the US corn industry, a $74 billion a year industry that supports 600000 jobs.
