This guy can barely form coherent words.

What is this "thing" they speak of, which attracts people to her? Because, as far as I'm concerned, she's as repulsive as they get.

The "thing" is possibly the same kind of personal presence that is attributed to Dubya. I think this translates to someone who has the ability to interest tv viewers. Though that doesn't make them much more talented than the average reality show contestant.
