I love TED and it's ideas but sometimes the members forget who and what they are.

Money.

The Key fact that he neglects to mention is that Bill Gates and the rest he listed weren't a bunch of poor little farm boys with a community college education. They came from Wealth.

It's a warm fuzzy happy fun ball notion (mostly held by the wealthy), but all the passion and love and etc. in the world won't get you squat if you aren't Rich.

TED.
Sponsored by who? Oh yeah, BMW. The car for rich yuppies.

Not all successful people were wealthy. Developing good connections and a dose of luck in addition to what's listed above will help though.

Money helps but sometimes it's a detriment. Kids born with silver spoons are not the ambitious ones.
