Magnolia opening scene (featuring One by Aimee Mann)

This is the stunningly perfect opening sequence to Magnolia, in which all of the major characters are introduced. Features almost ridiculously perfect use of the song "One" by Aimee Mann.

If I recall, the 'intro' opening sequence that precedes this clip is the narrator talking about a series of gee-whiz coincidences. They used it as a trailer, which was odd because I never thought that it fit very well with the rest of the movie. This clip seems like a much better place to start the screenplay. But hey, I'm no Paul Thomas Anderson .

Well,

a) that into is a beautiful and immensely entertaining way to open the film, and

b) it establishes the notion that, yes, strange things can and do happen, such as -- oh, I don't know -- frogs raining from the sky.

I think it's a pretty awesome way to start the film, and I would have sifted it myself but someone beat me to it (and on a somewhat related note, that's one ant downvote that I just can't understand).
