Life between generations (French-Canadian song w subtitles)

Very popular song in Quebec (Canada) from the band "Mes Aïeux" ("My Ancestors"). It's about different generations in Quebec and what kind of life/possibilities they had, but could apply to anywhere but the transition in Quebec from Catholic backwater to liberal modernity was particularly quick and harsh.

A buddy pointed out that this song is romanticizing things which are not necessarily good. "What the hell is so good about a woman having 14 kids? That's her spending her life barefoot and pregnant. Are they saying that's something worthy that we've abandoned?"

It is a good tune though; upvote.
