Kathy Castor Healthcare Town Hall Metting Erupts

"Union thugs close door on Kathy Castors constituents. A fight breaks out while Union thugs push Kathy Castor's consituents try to enter the room. Kathy Castor ignores the events and attempts to change the focus to support for veterans. The door is then closed and constituents have been locked out.

People outside bang on the door to try and get in.

People yell "BS" when Kathy Castor says we have the most to gain from this Healthcare bill. People yell out saying they pay for their own healthcare.

The meeting turns chaotic. " [/yt]

THIS is DEMOCRACY? If violence erupts, they should call out the riot police, and do to these people what right wing governments in the past have done to peaceful protests, bean bag guns, batons, pepper spray, and tear gas. By allowing people to show up at these events, and challenge the whole nations democratic foundation right to it's very core, tolerating the shut down of political discussion through anger and violence, then they should be treated like any other person would be at any political event, and should be dragged out by police, possibly arrested, or even tazed. How is it fair that when someone shouts at a politician at one event, that one person gets electrocuted, but when you're in an angry mob literally unraveling all the progress that the American nation has made in terms of a representative democracy, they are left alone, or, worse, allowed to continue to disrupt these meetings in a non inclusive, and nonconstructive fashion.

This is Nazi Germany before the concentration camps, before the war. except the "protesters" are the ones stifling dissent. She says that it's better for this group or that, and buddy stands up and yells "BULLSHIT, BULLSHIT, BULLSHIT!"

So the "Union Thug" is a cop, and nobody bothered to get an answer as to why the door was closed. Public rooms have occupancy limits, and it's possible that he was simply enforcing them, as the room already looks packed.

If this was a republican town hall, loyalty pledges would have been required. What a shame that the democrats actually leave themselves open to this sort of astroturfing because they actually think they live in a democracy populate by adults.

I have no problem with people expressing decent, I have no problem with people obstructing ANYTHING happening in public space/buildings.

My problem is that when when people on the right exercise this right they are tolerated, and when people on the left do it they are gassed/sprayed/beaten/arrested. This is not happening in a vacuum, the success of these actions is a testament, not to the popularity of their opinion, but to their privilege.

If they have the right to do this without risk of arrest, then I have the right to blockade an intersection in downtown without the risk of arrest. Blockading discussion in a democracy is a far greater affront to our fellow citizens than making them late for work, it should be treated as such.
