"Now is definitely not the time to be partisan or hold someone in contempt for not testifying. It is not the time to recall the past eight years (of cronyism, incompetence, and unconstitutional law), it is time to embrace the future. Now is not the time to go digging through erased emails and big oil donations. We want an end to partisan retribution. I think we all learned from Clinton's impeachment hearings, don't you?"

MrFisk wins the prize. That's exactly what this song and dance is about.

"See, I'm so nice and bipartisan, and it would be a shame if Obama were to bring back that poisonous partisanship by enforcing the law and punishing people like me for their crimes."

QM: Straw man.

While the left campaign to smear Bush is certainly rabid in intensity (and I happen to concur with that), if anything, I think most left-leaning people hoped that *nothing* really bad would happen to America because they supposed that he and his administration would no doubt fuck up whatever response was deemed "necessary" and make things infinitely worse. Unfortunately, a few really bad things did happen and their worst fears were realized. Seize the opportunity and slam the guy? Absolutely.

It is idiotic and wholly disingenuous to suggest that people wanted bad things to happen to their own country just to make a village idiot look like....well: a village idiot. He managed that just fine at the best of times; ask any comic.

But then, being a troll, you knew that, didn't you?
