John Cage performs music with common household items

John Cage still ruffles feathers to this day by defying common perceptions of what music is or should be. Music is simply organized sound. You need not have melody, harmony or a steady tempo to reach this criteria.

Now, this piece isn't something I'd personally put on my ipod, but it is a gentle reminder that all the noise that surrounds me has pitch and rhythm, and that art is subjectively defined by the deforming prism of my own mind.

The genius of Cage is tha the laughter - on the one hand annoying - on the other hand contributes to the soundtrack. It almost feels like it's pre-recorded and there's in fact no audience.
